The Gazebo project

The Gazebo is in need of repair.

First remove the nasty old top.

Laid out and pattern cut.

Instead of spending a hole bunch on material
I decided to use a green poly tarp.

Keeping it quick and easy
I cut out the bent section of metal roof support
and fit in a piece of wood.

With the roof framing repaired the first
section of the new roof is checked for fit.

After sewing the six pieces together
the test fit.

The center cap is cut and ready.

Both sewn and bound with trim.

After installing the roof cap
I used a broom to push the new
cover into place.

And using a broom....you get the idea.

There we go.

The Porch Swing Project

After years of exposure the porch swing was ready for a rebuild.

Using the old seat as a pattern
the new one should fit well.

The hard part was sewing the seat around the metal frame.

The old paint easily sanded smooth then
I used a flat green spray can to make it look new.

It took a few coats.

Since the sunshade frame could be disassembled,
it was easy to sew it's replacement.

The cushions defiantly needed an upgrade.

The finished project and just in time for mothers day.
